Robert K. Tanenbaum

Robert K. Tanenbaum is the author of 32 books (29 novels and 3 non-fiction books):  The Piano Teacher – The True Story of a Psychotic Killer; Badge of the Assassin, the true account of his investigation and trials of self-proclaimed members of the Black Liberation Army who assassinated two NYPD police officers, Waverly Jones and Joseph Piagentini – later adapted into a movie starring James Woods as Tanenbaum; and Echoes of My Soul, his signature masterpiece, the true story of one of the most intense manhunts in police history … and of the young District Attorney who exonerated the unjustly accused, brought the killer/rapist to justice and reformed forever law enforcement practices – published in May 2013 by Kensington Books.  Publishers Weekly selected Echoes of My Soul as the “Pick of the Week” in its April 22, 2013 edition.

He is one of the most successful prosecuting attorneys, having never lost a felony trial and convicting hundreds of violent criminals. He was a special prosecution consultant on the Hillside strangler case in Los Angeles and defended Amy Grossberg in her sensationalized baby death case. He was Assistant District Attorney in New York County in the office of legendary District Attorney Frank Hogan, where he ran the Homicide Bureau.
