Shane Stanford

Shane Stanford (@stanfordshane) is a teacher, speaker, and author committed to connecting people in significant relationships with Christ and each other. Shane is committed to helping people make life matter.

He is the Senior Pastor of Christ UMC in Memphis, TN– a congregation committed to sharing God’s love, truth and grace through Biblical teaching, small groups, and serving.

He is also the co-host of “We Believe in Memphis,” a 30 minute interview/TV program at the crossroads of faith and everyday issues.

Shane travels extensively sharing his journey as an HIV+ Hemophiliac and Christian minister. Shane recently spoke, at the invitation of Rick and Kay Warren, at the Global AIDS Summit for Saddleback Community Church in California.

Shane is also the author of 15 books, including When God Disappears (Regal), What the Prayers of Jesus Tell Us About the Heart of God (Abingdon), A Positive Life (Zondervan), The CURE for the Chronic Life (co-authored with Deanna Favre), and The Five Stones (with Brad Martin) (Abingdon Press).

However, if you ask Shane, he will tell you the most important job in his life is being a husband and father. Shane is married to Dr. Pokey Stanford, an Associate Professor of Education at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS.
